Co-owner & Head instructor
Kevin’s martial arts journey began in high school when he started competing at local MMA events. After graduating Kevin joined the United States Marine Corps, where he served 5 years as an infantry man, during that time he also progressed to the level of brown belt in the Marine Corps Martial Arts Program. After his enlistment and graduating from college Kevin then started a career in law enforcement. This was when he decided to train Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu full time.
After receiving his blue belt he began teaching the kids program at Gracie Barra Franklin which led to discovering his passion for teaching Jiu-Jitsu. Kevin was promoted to brown belt in 2023 and is now working towards his BJJ black belt under the tutelage of 2nd degree black belt Justin Wholer.
Kevin enjoys competing in BJJ but does not force competition on his students as he believes Jiu-Jitsu should be enjoyed by anyone. Whether you are a hobbyist looking to achieve fitness goals, a competitor, looking for community or just someone looking to build confidence and learn how to defend themselves.
